Over 3500 people in UK signed Justice 4 Arif Shahid Campaign’s Public Petition seeking Judicial Inquiry into targeted assassination of Kashmiri nationalist leader

Protest Rally in front of Pakistan High Commission London, Thursday, June 13, 2013, 11:00 am – 13:00 pm

In response to Justice 4 Arif Shahid Campaign’s call for action Kashmiri Political, human rights, peace and civil society activists and organisation are holding a joint public protest rally in front of Pakistan High Commission, London to call upon the Chief Minister of Punjab Pakistan to order judicial inquiry into political assassination of Kashmiri Nationalist leader Sardar Arif Shahid who was killed in a targeted killing on 13 May 2013 in Rawalpindi Pakistan.

The representative of Kashmiri political, Civil Society and human rights organisations along with hundreds of people will hand over a petition signed by over 3500 people from England to Pakistan High Commissioner in London.

Sardar Aftab Khan, Coordinator of the Justice 4 Arif Shahid Camapign has informed the media that the same petition signed by hundreds of Kashmiri diaspora community members from Middle East, North America and other European countries will be sent directly to Mian Shahbaz Shahrif, Chief Ministers of Punjab.

He further added that over 100 members and representatives of Srinagar and Jammu High Court Bar Associations, civil society organisations and trade unions have signed Justice 4 Arif Shahid Campaign public petition and renowned peace and civil society activist Parshotam Kuamar from Jammu will be submitting the signed petition on their behalf to Pakistan High Commission in Delhi, India. Similarly, Engr. Kahlid Parvaiz Butt, President, Kashmir Freedom Movement (KFM) will lead a delegation of political, civil society and trade Union representatives to hand over Justice 4 Arif Shahid camaping’s petition signed by over 1000 members of civil society, High Court Bar Association from Bhimber and other parts of AJK and Pakistan to Chief Minister, Punjab at his Camp office in Islamabad at 2:00 pm on 13 June.
