At present, the installed Grid capacity is 270 MVA. The transmission lined have been extended to 1589 villages (17000 Kilometers) out of 1646 and about 350,000 consumers have been provided with connections. EDUCATION |
27 % of total recurring budget besides 10% of total development budget is allocated to education sector. As a result of this substantial investment AJ&K literacy rate is well above 60% of total population. Gross enrolment rate at primary level is 95% for boys and 88 % for girls. |
AIRPORTS |
The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan has constructed two small airports at Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot cities in recent past in order to provide easy and fast mode of travel (Presently Suspended) This facility is also expected to be extended to Mirpur and Kotli cities later on. |
